About Becky

A founder’s journey shaped by land, community, and three decades of purposeful work.

A life rooted in stewardship

Becky Devaleriola’s path has been shaped by the landscapes and communities of western Canada—from Peace Country, Alberta, where she has lived and worked for much of her life, to roles across the province and into British Columbia.

Over more than thirty years, she has built a career that weaves together administrative leadership, environmental program coordination, and community-focused governance. Her professional journey began in the Alberta energy sector as a Joint Venture Accountant before moving through banking, government ministry support, and transportation project delivery. Each role added layers of organizational skill, financial acumen, and an ability to coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.

The turning point came through her work with ALUS (Alternative Land Use Services) programs across Alberta. As ALUS Program Coordinator for Northern Sunrise County, she managed a multi-year environmental program restoring marginal agricultural lands to ecological health, coordinated the Heart River Watershed Advisory Committee, led the county’s Shelterbelt Program, served as Soil Conservation Officer, and contributed to the Woodland Cree First Nation Bison Reintroduction Project—a landmark collaboration that secured federal funding for a sustainable bison grazing program. Her ALUS work extended beyond Peace Country to include contributions to programs in Lac Ste. Anne County and Lacombe County, deepening her understanding of how environmental stewardship takes shape across different landscapes and communities.

Becky also took on contract work with ALUS Canada as a media interviewer, conducting on-camera interviews with landowners and program participants for the national organization’s outreach and storytelling efforts—helping communicate the real-world impact of land stewardship to broader audiences.

Through board service with the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS), the Agroforestry & Woodlot Extension Society (AWES), and the Mighty Peace Watershed Alliance (MPWA), she has contributed to conservation advocacy, sustainable forestry, and watershed governance at the provincial and regional level.

In 2021, she founded Evergreen Holistically Inc., an administrative consultancy and ecosystem restoration practice based in Peace River. Through this venture, she supports environmental programs, small businesses, and community projects—bringing the same structured, detail-oriented approach that has defined her career.

Her work today is grounded in a vision of regenerative stewardship—the idea that healthy land, strong communities, and thoughtful systems are inseparable. The Regenerative Stewardship Sanctuary™ represents the fullest expression of that vision: a long-term initiative dedicated to place-based ecological restoration and stewardship education.

“I believe the most meaningful work happens where land care, community wellbeing, and practical learning converge. Restoring land is also about restoring our relationship with place—and with each other.”
